Jokowi to Meet Abe and Obama In Beijing

Beijing (Antara Bali) - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo here, Monday, is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings respectively with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and US President Barack Obama, on the sidelines of the APEC Summit.

After delivering an address in the APEC Summit's CEO Forum, Jokowi will meet Abe for about 10 minutes. He later will meet Obama for around 45 minutes. The meetings with Abe and Obama will be the first ones for Jokowi who was inaugurated as Indonesia's seventh president on October 20, 2014.

Earlier, Jokowi held meeting with Chinese President Xin Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang.

The two countries' leaders expressed commitment to intensify the bilateral relations between Indonesia and China for the welfare of Chinese and Indonesian peoples.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said that Indonesia-China comprehensive strategic partnership was the most dynamics in the Asia-Pacific region.

"The comprehensive strategic partnership between Indonesia and China continues to develop and constitutes the most dynamics in the Asia and Pacific region," Xi stated in the meeting with Jokowi at the People's Great Hall of China here on Sunday.

Xi Jinping said that the relationship between Indonesia and China had been running for a long time. They have a very deep friendship.

"There is an Indonesian saying: out of sight close to the heart. Even though the two countries are separated by the wide sea and ocean, the magnitude of the waves will not hinder our exchange of activities, beginning from the visit of Admiral Chengho (who sailed to Indonesia) to the Asian-African Conference," said President Xi.

The Indonesian head of state is on a visit to Beijing from November 8 to 11, for the APEC Summit 2014. (WDY)
