Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Two Indonesian state-owned enterprises - fertiliser company PT Pupuk Indonesia and agribusiness firm PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI) - will develop cattle ranches in Australia by the end of this year, said a minister.
"PT Pupuk Indonesia will develop land spanning one million hectares into a cattle ranch, while RNI will develop a cattle ranch on 300 hectares of land," said State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan on Thursday.
PT Pupuk Indonesia will cooperate with Australia-based Commonwealth Bank for financial support. The cattle from Australia will then be exported to Indonesia to meet the high demand for meat in the country. (*/M038)
