Pekanbaru (Antara Bali) - Three planes from Jakarta to Pekanbaru were re-routed on Tuesday morning due to thick haze that resulted in low visibility at Sultan Syarif Kasim II airport.
The three planes - Garuda Indonesia, Air Asia, and Lion Air - eventually landed at Kuala Namu International Airport, Medan, North Sumatra province.
"Almost all scheduled departures are also delayed due to the haze," said the airport's Duty Manager Bauquni on Tuesday.
It is indicated that the haze occurred due to forest fires in Riau province. (*/DWA)
