Denpasar (Antara Bali) - The number of Australian tourists to Bali in 2009 reached 446,570, a 42.62 pct increase compared to the the 313,111 in 2008.
"The Australian tourists are on the top of the list of the tourists from ten countries to Bali," head of the Bali Central Bureau of Statistics Ida Komang Wisnu said here Thursday.
He said most of them arrived in Bali at Ngurah Rai airport straight from their country, and only 1,259 arrived by yacht.
"Many Australians have considered Bali their second home," Ida Komang Wisnu said.
Second on the list are Japanese tourists, she added.
The other foreign tourists who often spent their holiday in the tourist resort came from China, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, France, the UK, Holland and Germany, Wisnu said.(*)
