Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa has called for the entire community to strengthen tolerance, understanding and commitment among diverse groups to fight against all forms of extremism.
"The 10th anniversary of the Bali bombing was a valuable opportunity to fight extremism in all forms. Let's work together to ensure that extremist views will never take root in our society," said Natalegawa in a press release received here on Friday.
He added that terrorists not only seek to kill and wound their victims but also destroy the values of freedom, tolerance and compassion.
"They are trying to sow discord and division. Their attacks are on humanitarian values but they have failed," said Natalegawa.
Instead of sowing seeds of hatred, the government and people from different backgrounds, religions and nationalities are united against acts of terror.(IGT/T007)
