Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian island resort of Bali will host the International Interfaith Youth Summit from October 5 to 7 this year, Indonesian Youth Forum (IYF) Executive Director Achmad Syamsuddin said on Friday.
The summit is being organized by IYF in cooperation with the Global Peace Festival Indonesia Foundation (GPFIF), Syamsuddin said in a statement.
"With its theme of, `New Interfaith Paradigm for the 21st Century', the summit aims at building a consensus about the importance of interfaith harmony and tolerance in development," he said.
GPFIF chairman Chandra Setiawan said that his foundation is supporting the summit because it has been initiated by the younger generation to promote interfaith harmony and tolerance.
"In our opinion, a summit such as this is very important as it allows the younger generation to actively involve itself in efforts to create world peace," Setiawan said.(IGT)
