Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Kupang police in East Nusa Tenggara will become the first police institution in Indonesia using a Mobile Virtual Private Network (MVPN) of Cellular Telecommunication company (Telkomsel) to maximize the performance of local security personnel.
The cooperation with MVPN has been established by signing the minutes of agreement by the Head of Regional Account Management of the Bali Telkomsel Nusra Ricca Andaruputri and Kupang Police Chief Ajunct Senior Commissioner Muhammad Slamet at the local police station on Wednesday.
Head of Telkomsel, Kupang branch, Riva Moreno who also attended the occasion said he will assist the police in increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of their tasks in protecting, guarding, and serving the public.
"By the MVPN services we hope would simplify coordination and communications between members of the Kupang police force. This technology could increase the efficiency and comfort of communications by adopting all functions of cellular phones," he said.
Corporations using the MVPN technology can cut communication installation cost by special rates of conversation between the members and will cut branch exchange of private equipment installation and maintenance cost, Riva Moreno said.
With the cooperation, members of the Kupang Police Force would enjoy free telephone and SMS facilities for 24 hours and for mutual coordination calls using short codes, such as 1111, 1112, and so on.
In the meantime, Kupang Police Chief Muhammad Slamet welcomed the service cooperation which will smooth the tasks of his men. "We hope this communication technological innovation would made it easier for the police members in increasing their performances, especially in serving the general public," he said.
Telkomsel is currently serving 119 companies with more than 3,300 HALO card numbers in East Nusa Tenggara, with the support of the Corporate Account Management team in working like a personal consultant.
In addition, customer care on line services for corporates through access 128 directly from cellular phones are also ready to serve 24 hours for free, said Pandu Maulana, Corporate Communications of Telkomsel.(*/T007)
