Jakarta (Antara Bali) - A legislator of the opposition Indonesian Democracy Party-Struggle (PDIP) has urged the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to disclose the details of a report of the Financial Transactions Analysis and Reporting Agency (PPATK) on suspicious accounts of military and police personnel.
"The details of the inflated accounts of military and police personnel found by PPATK should be disclosed immediately. The KPK should not throw up a hot ball , float rumors or vague assumptions in this matter," Helmy, member of the House of Representatives Commission I said here Wednesday.
If TNI and police personnel really had inordinately huge bank accounts, they must be unveiled and settled through a legal process, he said.
"Any public servant including legislators with suspicious bank accounts must be investigated thoroughly. The KPK must have the courage to act. Nobody is immune to the law. The KPK should not only dare to conduct searches in House premises but also have the guts to disclose cases in the military and police," Helmy said.
He noted the National Defense Forces (TNI) had already undergone a thorough reform process as evident from the cases of servicemen being penalized for abusing human rights.(IGT)
