Kerobokan (Antara Bali) - Inmates of Bali's Kerobokan state penitentiary on Wednesday night (Feb 22) again expressed anger in violent acts after rioting and starting a fire the day before.
Some 500 Mobile Brigade (Brimob) police personnel called to the prison had to work hard to quell the riot, a police official said.
Chief of the Badung district police, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Beny Aryanto, said on Thursday the 500 Brimob members remained at the prison from Wednesday night until Thursday morning (Feb.23).
The security guards also deployed fire brigade trucks in anticipation of a fire as happened in Tuesday's riot.
Earlier, Bali provincial police chief Inspector General Totoy Indrawan said that a conflict among the inmates and a discrimination problem had led to the recurrence of the riot.(*/T007)
