Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has called on the State-Owned Enterprises Ministry to improve the performance of their enterprises in a bid to boost national economic growth.
"The management of state-owned enterprises should have a vivid direction and target," President Yudhoyono said during a limited cabinet meeting at his office here on Thursday.
He noted that the performance of state-owned enterprises should be documented and that the improvements must have clear concepts and objectives with periodical evaluations.
According to the president, the state-owned enterprises should play an active role in supporting economic growth, creating jobs, and demonstrating their corporate social responsibility to the public.
The head of sate said corporate social responsibility is the continuing commitment by the enterprises to behave ethically and contribute to economic development, while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families, as well as of the local community at large.(IGT)
