Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian Army is continuing its joint training with six countries in Thailand in an exercise called "Cobra Gold 2012" lasting from Jan 8 to Feb 19, as participating countries seek to increase cooperation and professionalism among its soldiers.
The spokesperson for the Indonesian Army, Rear Admiral Iskandar Sitompul, told ANTARA here on Monday that Indonesia sent 75 soldiers to the joint training that was initiated by US Pacific Command.
"The Indonesian Army is participating in two types of training, those are for military medical assistance and military engineers," he said.
Indonesia will join the militaries from Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, and Japan in the medical and humanity assistance training.
He further said the purpose of the joint training was to increase the inter-military partnerships and synergies among the six countries.(IGT)
