Pekanbaru (Antara Bali) - Residents in Indragiri Hilir district, Riau managed to capture a five meters long crocodile after it swallowed a 14 years boy while playing in a nearby river.
"The giant crocodile was captured at 18.30 local time on Monday, and then the residents killed the 400-kg crock," Kuala Indragiri sub-district Chief Muhammad Syafullah, said here Tuesday.
The curious mob that captured the giant crock also ripped open the crock's stomach to see it has inside, Muhammad said.
"Its surprising that inside of the stomach of the giant beast captured we found a boy's body that had been reported missing two days ago," Muhammad said.
When discovered, the boy's body was already torn to pieces after been chewed and made the remains look like a ready-to-serve meats.
The incident caused a stir among the local parents, and started to forbid their children to play in the river to avoid crocodiles, he said.
According to several residents, the 14 years old victim, Rio Chandra, was reported missing since Saturday (Dec 31) while exploring the Merusi River that stretches across the Kuala Indragiri district with his father Syahrudin to look for mangrove wood.(IGT/T007)
