Palu (Antara Bali) - Cellular phone operator PT Telkomsel will invest Rp129 billion in the construction of a telecommunication infrastructure to support Sail Tomini 2014 in Central Sulawesi, company spokesman Asbullah said here on Monday.
"The funds amounting Rp129 billion will be spent on the construction of 43 Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) around the area where Sail Tomini 2012 will take place," Asbullah said.
He said the Base Transceiver Stations would be built at three districts in Central Sulawesi namely Tojo Unauna, Banggai, and Banggai Islands.
In Tojo Unauna district, Asbullah said Telkomsel would build 14 BTS in addition to 20 in Banggai district, and 9 in Banggai Islands district.
"The Base Transceiver Stations will be built in those three districts because they are located at exit and entry points of the Sail Tomini 2014 participating yachts," Asbullah said, adding that the BTS would start to be built in 2012 and completed before the international marine event was conducted.
According to him, Palu-based Telkomsel would fully support Sail Tomini 2014 in an effort to promote Central Sulawesi as national and international tourism area.
"We will fully support all district heads in Central Sulawesi for the success of Sail Tomini 2014," Asbullah said, expressing hope that all public elements in the districts and the province would do the same.(**)
