Foreign Tourist Arrivals Through Benoa Port Exceed Target

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - A total of 25,303 foreign tourists arrived in Indonesia through Benoa port in  Bali until the third quarter of this year, exceeding the target of 20,113 , state-owned port operator PT Pelindo III said.

"The numbers of foreign tourist arriving  through the ports of Tanjung Emas in Semarang, Benoa in Bali and Lembar in Lombok increased significantly,  Pelindo III spokesman Edi Priyanto said in a written statement here on Wednesday.

He said  Benoa was a gate for foreign tourists to visit the Indonesian tourist resort island of Bali. They came to Bali to visit tourism destinations such as Kuta beach, Sanur beach, Tanjung Beno beach, Dreamland beach and Tanah Lot and Beudul.

The number of foreign tourists arriving through Lembar port up to the third quarter of this year stood at 16,036, exceeding the target set at 3,850.

Lembar is a gate to Lombok with a number of tourist destinations such as the beaches of Senggigi, Gilitrawangan, Kuta Lombok, Tanjung A'an, Pura Batu Bolong, Narmada Park and the Sindang Gila water fall.

Compared with Bali, Lombok has drier climate and rains hardly fall more than two hours. Thus, Lombok is the best place to visit during the rainy season in Indonesia, Edi said.(*)
