Garuda Indonesia promotes 10 tourist destinations at GATF

Denpasar (Antaranews Bali) - The national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia held the Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair (GATF) 2018 in Kuta, Bali, to promote 10 priority tourist destinations, in order to boost development of the tourism sector.

"With 312 flights per week, Bali has become the hub of flights that connect Denpasar with other domestic as well as international destinations," Garuda Indonesia`s General Manager for Bali, Joseph A Saul, said here on Monday.

The GATF is a strategic move taken by the airline to optimize its potential markets, including the 10 tourist destinations, namely Lake Toba, Belitung, Tanjung Lesung, Seribu Islands, Borobudur Temple, Mount Bromo, Lombok, Labuan Bajo, Wakatobi, and Morotai.

The GATF is held annually in two phases, namely in March and September, in 24 big cities across Indonesia.

In Bali, the first phase of GATF 2018 took place from March 23 to 25, and the second phase would be held from Sept 28 to 30, both at Lippo Mall, Kuta.

The airlines has offered a discount of 15 percent on ticket prices to domestic destinations and 20 percent discount on ticket fares to international destinations.

Visitors purchasing a deal during the event could earn cashback of up to Rp1 million from BCA Bank on use of their credit card issued by the bank for the transaction.

The company has targeted to earn Rp30 billion from ticket sales during the event.

In GATF 2017, in Bali, the company has targeted Rp29 billion of transaction from ticket sales.

The favorite international destinations during the event are Singapore, Tokyo, and Osaka in Japan, as well as South Korea. (WDY)
