Bali's Imports Drop 13.53 Percent

Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali imported US$102.88 million worth of goods including machines and production equipment from various countries in the first 8 months of this year, down 13.5 percent from US$118.99 million in the same period last year.

"In October, 2017 alone imports were valued at US$10.39 million , up US$554,814  or 5.64 percent  from US$9.83 million in September 2017," head of the distribution statistics of the provincial office of the Central Bureau of Statistics I Gede Nyoman Subadri said here on Friday.

Nyoman said , the October's import value was 23.74 percent lower than US$13.62 million in the same month last year.

Bali's import commodities include jewelry, bells, wrist watches, leather goods, electrical machine and equipment, machines and production equipment.

Imports came from Hong Kong, the United States,Australia, Germany and Thailand.

Adi Nugroho said the import value was much smaller than export value that reached US$443.44 million in the first 10 months of this year, up US$23.99 million  or 5.72 percent  from US$419.44 million in the same period last year. (WDY)
