Indonesia Invites Moroccan Investors

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The government, through the Coordinating Ministry for the Ministry of Marine Affairs, invited Moroccan investors to invest in Indonesia in a series of products exhibition and arts show "Explore Indonesia" held in Marrakesh, Morocco.

Deputy of Natural Resources  and Marine Affairs Coordination of the Marine Affairs Coordinating Ministry, Agung Kuswandono. said in a press release here Sunday that Indonesia has become the right investment destination for Moroccan entrepreneurs.

"Yesterday (Friday  Nov 10) we had a meeting with the businessmen of Marrakesh, I told them that Indonesia is now the right place to invest for Moroccan entrepreneurs in all fields, especially as Indonesia's investment grade rating has positioning Indonesia as a safe and viable country to invest in. Indonesia will be ready to accommodate investment from Morocco," he said.

"Explore Indonesia" is an integrated promotional event organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Marrakesh, Morocco for products in the economic, trade, tourism, marine and fishery, arts and culture sectors, as well as investments from 10-12 November 2017 at Menara Mall, Marrakesh City.

The event was held to improve bilateral relations between the two countries. The Coordinating Ministry for the Ministry of Marine Affairs was invited as a guest speaker at the meetings held both in Marrakesh and in Rabat, due to its role as coordinator of tourism, transportation, marine and fishery sectors, as well as energy and mineral resources (ESDM).

On that occasion, Agung confessed a lot of talk about the various destinations of Indonesia's flagship tourism, including the culture of Indonesia is relatively similar to Morocco, where it has majority Muslim population.

"I am sure, if they come to Indonesia they will feel like at home," he said.

In the event, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Rabat and representatives from West Java Provincial Government presents various products of Indonesia in the form of photo exhibition of development and tourism objects in Indonesia, exhibition of export/culinary goods/products, and arts and culture.

The presentations aim to introduce and encourage understanding of the Moroccan government and society about Indonesia.

The government hopes that Morocco can serve as a market for Indonesia's flagship export products or products that have been traded with a value in the range of 160 million US dollars in 2016. For that, the government wants to make Morocco as one of the non-traditional markets for Indonesia.

Cooperation with Morocco, continued Agung, has an important value because in addition to having the same competitive advantage, Morocco is very close to the European and African markets.

"If we can cooperate with Morocco, the European and African markets will indirectly be open. So, that is the importance of cooperation with Morocco," he added.

The King of Morocco plans to make a state visit to Indonesia in early December to discuss further cooperation that will be built between the two countries. (WDY)
