Bali Airport General Manager Yanus Suprayogi noted in Denpasar on Saturday that budget worth some Rp112 billion was allocated to establish the check-in counters.
According to Suprayogi, the additional counters at the international terminal will be set in tandem with the development preparations to welcome the IMF and World Bank delegations, which is currently in the tendering stage.
It is planned that the check-in counters will be set up on the second floor or in the promenade area in front of the gate of the international departure terminal.
Suprayogi explained that the addition of the counters is a part of the major infrastructure development plan at the local airport, including the expansion of an apron or aircraft parking area, planned to be built at west of the runway, or close to the VVIP1 terminal.
Suprayogi noted that as part of the first phase of the development of the apron, an area of approximately 48 hectares of the total 84 hectares of land, is planned to be carried out by reclaiming the west coast near the runway or near the VVIP terminal.
The construction of the apron is estimated to cost around Rp1.7 trillion, which is planned to be carried out by the end of this year.
According to Suprayogi, the first phase to develop the airport infrastructure is estimated to cost around Rp4 trillion, which is expected to be disbursed by internal companies, with possible mechanisms of debt or equity. (WDY)
