Indonesian Students Win International Robotic Competition

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesian students from the Malang Muhammadiyah University and Surabaya Electronics Polytechnic (PENS) have won an international robotic competition, the Research, Technology, and Higher Education Ministry's Director General Intan Ahmad stated here on Sunday.

The Indonesian delegation has won in the "Senior Unique Division", "Legged/Walking Division", and "Best Poster in Walking Division" at this year's Trinity College Robotic Competition held in the US on Apr 1-2.

PENS, as part of the country's delegation, has also achieved the highest honor of the Grand Performance Mastery Prize at this year's competition.

The Indonesian team's robot has successfully gained the lowest total final score by displaying a unique poster presentation, the Trinity Robotic Contest's official website stated.

According to the website, the poster presentation contest is aimed at encouraging the communication skills of the robots.

The robots are tasked with delivering a presentation explaining the machine's design and functionality.

"We highly awarded the two Indonesian teams that emerged victorious in the world's prestigious firefighter robotic competition," Ahmad noted.

The event, held in Hartford, Connecticut, was attended by competitors from other countries, including Canada, China, Portuguese, the United Arab Emirates, the US, and Israel.

"These universities' students have proven their abilities by competing and emerging victorious in the international competition," Ahmad reiterated.

She further expressed hope that the feat could encourage other students to constantly thrive and improve their creative skills in order to help in the country's development. (WDY)
