Some People Unable To Distinguish Criticism From Sedition: President

Jakarta (Antara Bali) -  President Joko Widodo has said that some people forget or are not able to distinguish between criticism and sedition, or criticism and treason, as they are spending energy on unproductive things.

The president made the remarks in his address at the national extraordinary conference (Munaslub) of the Hanura Party in Cilangkap, East Jakarta on Wednesday night.

"Many people forget the difference between criticism and insults, criticism and vilification, criticism and incitement, criticism and hatred speech, and cannot distinguish between criticism and treason, actually the difference is obvious. Do not let the energy out for unproductive things," Jokowi reminded.

Jokowi said that Indonesia needs positive energy to overcome the various problems.

The energy can be obtained from a variety of elements, including from the Hanura Party that according to him, has developed into a renowned party after it was established 10 years ago.

"I hope Hanura continues to be a strategic partner, and constructive for the government because the Indonesian people need energy, including from Hanura to solve various problems," said Jokowi.

Jokowi also stressed that if the energy is used for things that are not productive then this nation will forget to build the grand strategy of future development.

On the occasion the president officially opened the Munaslub of the Hanura party.  (WDY)
