"The performance also showed a 6.85 pct increase compared to the second quarter of last year with only 80.99 million US dollars," Head of the Bali statistics office (BPS) Gede Suarsa said here Tuesday.
He said the trade items had been exported from Bali to Japan accounted for 34.53 pct, and to the United States 12.74 pct.
Five leading export commodities included fish and shrimp reaching 25.41 pct, jewelry 21.36 pct, garments 15.92 pct, electrical equipment 11.70 pct and socks 4.31 pct.
Gede Suarsa said the foreign currency revenue of the five export destination countries had also increased significantly. And the export of various trade items to Japan also increased 122.20 pct.
Also to the United States increased 63.32 pct, so Singapore 14.61 pct, Hong Kong 44.16 pct, and to Italy 109.38 pct.
Compared to the earlier quarter, the exports to the five destination countries had increased significantly.
Japan's export revenue increased 49.99 pct, the US 14.26 pct, Singapore 6.79 pct, Hong Kong 24.89 pct, and to Italy 66.36 pct.
The significant increase in Bali's exports was thanks to the improvement in the global economy, Gede Suarsa said.(*)
