Bandung, W.Java (Antara Bali) - The Research and Development Center for Roads and Bridges of the Public Works Ministry is showcasing Indonesian technology products related to traffic engineering and road environment at the Traffic Engineering Camp (IndoTrEC) 2015 in Bandung.
"The research and development center has developed 50 applied technologies," Head of Traffic Engineering and Road Environment Office Muhammad Idris stated here on Tuesday (Oct. 6).
The IndoTrEC exhibition themed "Optimizing Utilization of Urban Road Function to Achieve Sustainable and Humane Way" is being held on October 6-7, 2015.
Idris noted that the technology on display at the IndoTrEC 2015 is the result of research conducted during the 2009-2014 period, and the products have been developed by the research and development center.
"Some of the technologies have been applied, while there are some that we would like to introduce. We have also outlined the technology that will be developed for the next five years," Idris affirmed.
Road traffic and environment will focus on three indicators --- smart road, road safety, and green road --- that utilize environmental aspects to add an aesthetic appeal to the roads.
IndoTrEC, which has been organized since 2014, is intended to bring together stakeholders, industry, and academia.
Idris stated that this event also serves as a platform for research and development institutions to collaborate with the industry to apply such technologies.
"So far, our technology products are in the form of software. Some are already in use, and we want these technologies to be applied appropriately in the physical form," he added. (WDY)
