Bandung, W Java (Antara Bali) - The administrations of West Java and South Australia agreed to revitalize sister provincial cooperation established since 1997 in the field of relations between the government and community and the economy, particularly industrial and tourism sectors.

The West Java provincial administration in a press release received by Antara here, Friday, stated that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) had been signed by Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar and the South Australian Premier Jay Wetherill in Adelaide, South Australia, on Thursday (September 24).

Deddy stated that the request to revitalize the cooperation agreement was put forth by the West Java provincial administration and the South Australian administration to establish a mutually beneficial relationship.

"This cooperation must be mutually beneficial and must follow the laws and regulations in each country," he emphasized.

Deddy noted that the cooperation in agriculture will soon be developed, including the exchange of science and technology and the provision and development of its products and services.

In the field of tourism, both provinces will continue to exchange and promote each other's art and cultures.

In the field of education, West Java and South Australia will conduct student and teacher exchange programs, provide scholarships, training, sister school program, and research cooperation.

"We will establish a working group for the implementation of the agreement. The working group will also evaluate and recommend the forms of the program," Deddy explained. (WDY)
