"We will conduct a special fire arm raid. We will focus on fire arms," the police deputy chief said here on Tuesday.
He said that the fire arms sweeping would be carried out across the country.Firm actions will be taken against those illegally carrying fire arms.
The rampant shooting incidents of late took place not because of police failed to take anticipatory measures against criminal acts. Intelligence also still functions well, he said.
"We should understand that crimes are always one step ahead of us. We are taking anticipatory steps with various ways. It does not mean that we are awaiting crimes to happen before we could take actions. But sometimes they acted ahead of us," he said. (M038)
