Nusa Dua (Antara Bali) - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) said it will start using bio-fuel for all of its aircraft in 2015.
Garuda will use 10 million liters of the alternative fuel in 2015 in mixture with other aviation fuel, Novianto Herupratomno, the operation director of the country`s flag carrier, said.
However, the target could be reached depending on the availability of bio-duel, Novianto said.
It is only a small part of fuel needed by the entire aircraft of the airline . Currently the airline has 96 units of aircraft and the number is expected to increase to 144 units in 2015, Novianto said here on Tuesday.
He said an aircraft will need around 10 million liters of fuel a year. (M038)
