Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Vice President Boediono said the government supports the development of state aircraft maker PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) through a proper and mutually beneficial business model.
"We are serious about developing the domestic aviation industry as Pak Habibie hopes," he said at a meeting with PTDI President Director Budi Santoso and European Aeronautic Defence and Space (EADS) CEO Thomas Enders at his office here on Wednesday.
Boediono said Indonesia is a potential market for aviation business and that cooperation between PTDI and EADS must be mutually beneficial.
"This cooperation must not last for just five years or the age of one cabinet but must continue for a long period of time," he said.
Under the cooperation, both sides should not only produce aircraft together but also increase the use of local contents and the production capacity of PTDI, he said. (M038)
