Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The government will speed up infrastructure and real sector development outside Java this year, under the Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI), according to a minister.
"In 2013, the government will accelerate the infrastructure development process," Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa said after a coordination meeting on the implementation and projections of MP3EI here on Thursday.
He noted that 82 infrastructure projects and 64 real sector projects, worth a total of Rp545.76 trillion, would be launched next year.
Those projects are spread across the six corridors of MP3EI, namely in Sumatra (worth Rp62.3 trillion), Java (Rp115.77 trillion), Kalimantan (Rp108.78 trillion), Sulawesi (Rp10.73 trillion), Bali and Nusa Tenggara (Rp43.27 trillion) and Maluku and Papua plus West Papua (Rp204.56 trillion), Hatta explained.
"Hence, the Maluku and Papua plus West Papua corridor in 2013 will see much infrastructure development," he stated.
In an effort to speed up infrastructure development outside Java, Hatta added, the government would provide private investors with various incentives.(*/DWA)
