"Regretfully, the AAI's report on the insurance need has not yet been responded to by the manpower and transmigration ministry," the association said in a press statement here recently.
In June 2012, AAI provided free legal assistance to 2,191 migrant workers, and around 1,065 workers received insurance compensation worth a total of Rp1,839,752,908.
"Around 400 migrant workers are in the process of getting their insurance compensation, while 726 others did not get any compensation," the press release said.
They did not receive compensation because they were neither members of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Insurance Consortium nor covered by other insurance services, it explained.(IGT)
