Bandung, W Java (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian team hopes to win three gold medals at the Asian Beach Games V, to be held in Danang, Vietnam from September 24 to October 3, 2016.
"The three gold medals are expected to be won in beach volleyball, beach wood ball and in rowing events," said the chairman of the Indonesian contingent, Sarita Hellen de Lima, in a written statement made available to Antara in Bandung on Wednesday.
He said he expects that Indonesian players would also earn medals in other competitions.
Indonesia will send 79 athletes and officials to the Asian Beach Games V 2016 to compete in eight sports categories, including beach water polo, beach volley ball, 3x3 basketball, martial arts, beach woodball, beach sepaktakraw, vovinam and beach rowing.
At the Asian Beach Games IV in Phuket, Thailand, in 2014, Indonesia was ranked seventh on the championship list, with seven gold, seven silver and 14 bronze medals.
A large entourage from Indonesia will leave for Vietnam on September 23, led by Hellen Sarita de Lima, who is also on the executive committee of the Indonesian Sport and Law Olympic Committee (KOI).
