Meulaboh, Aceh (Antara Bali) - The Rector of the Sultan Zainal Abidin University, Terengganu Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Datuk Yahaya Ibrahim, said the industry in his country was really dependant on Indonesian workers.

"Malaysian palm oil industry relies on Indonesian workers. Around 90 percent of the industry needs Indonesian workers," he stated here on Monday.

He added that the Malaysian government is now looking for skilled manpower to fill vacancies at higher levels.

Aceh is now improving the educational level of its manpower in order to have professional skilled workers for certain fields of work.

Yahaya Ibrahim explained that the opportunity for Indonesian manpower to work in Malaysia in various fields is wide open.

"In fact, with high skills and good attitude, Indonesian workers are able to work in other ASEAN and European countries," he pointed out. (WDY)
