Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Minister for State Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms, Yuddy Chrisnandi, said the government will prioritize recruitment of employees for the health and education sectors in 2016.

The minister said here on Tuesday that seeing the available fund allocations, the central government can recruit up to 71 thousand employees for 2016. But this quota will not be fully used because of the governments moratorium on the appointment of new civil servants.

"We will give priority to the recruitment of employees for priority national development programs in the fields of education, health, poverty eradication and areas that could support programs in the infrastructure, maritime and food resilience sectors," Yuddy said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He said that priority to accorded to recruiting doctors, nurses and teachers for remote areas in Indonesia. Also, employees will be recruited for service and law enforcement schools.

"For law enforcement, employees to be recruited account for only about 10 percent of the total recruitment this year," he said.

On the other hand, the government is also now rationalizing its employee force. It is reassessing the quantity and quality of the countrys civil servants.

With the policy, the government will reduce the number of civil servants who are not qualified as part of its efficiency enhancing measures.(WDY)
