Bogor, W Java (Antara Bali) - Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa has stated that compensation will soon be distributed to residents living in the haze-hit regions after obtaining disbursement from Finance Ministry.
"We have forwarded proposal (to get compensation) to Finance Ministry," Khofifah said here on Friday, adding that her ministry has received proposals from six out of seven provinces that have been affected by the thick haze.
According to Khofifah, her office has proposed that the compensation is remitted to the Prosperous Family Card (KKS) holders, where each of them will receive Rp 900 thousand (for 90 days).
The compensation will be distributed through post offices, because data of the KKS holders have been sent to the post offices, she pointed out.
"President has agreed (mechanism of distributing the compensation through post offices). So now we are waiting for the disbursement of funds from the Finance Ministry," Khofifah added.
As many as 1.44 million KKS holders from the seven haze-hit provinces will receive the compensation, the social affairs minister explained. (WDY)
