Jakarta (Antara Bali) - China's Lin Dan defeated Indonesia's Tommy Sugiarto 17-21, 17-21, in the men's singles event at the Japan Open here on Saturday.
Tommy was defeated in 54 minutes making the record of the meet between the two at 2-5 in favor of the Chinese player.
"He is more prepared with the change in my playing pattern. When I redirected my strike he knew how to anticipate it," Tommy said after the game, as reported in the official site of the All Indonesia Badminton Association (PBSI).
Tommy met Lin Dan at the Indonesia Open 2015, where he won 19-21, 21-8, and 21-6.
He would continue preparing himself for the South Korea Open 2015 in the third week of this month, he said.
Tommy's loss against Lin Dan dashed Indonesia's hopes of seeing one of its players in the final of the tournament, as its men's doubles pair Angga Pratama/Ricky Karanda was also defeated by South Korean Lee Yong Dae/Yoo Yeon Seong 16-21, 16-21 in 48 minutes in the semi-finals.(WDY)
