Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Nine state companies will cooperate in the
development of 83.6 kilometer Light Rail Transit (LRT) in the Greater
Jakarta area .
"The synergy between the state companies would be needed in land development, financing, construction, and operation, to create added value both for the corporations and the people," Kiswodarmawan, the president of Adhi Karya, one of the nine companies, said on the sidelines of the ground breaking ceremony of the project held at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, here on Wednesday.
The other 8 companies are PT Jasa Marga Tbk , Perum PPD, PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesi (RNI), Perum Bulog, PT Bank BNI Tbk, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk, PT Bank BRI Tbk, and PT Bank BTN Tbk.
PT Jakarta Propertindo, a company owned by the Jakarta city administration is also involved in the construction of the Rp23.8 trillion mass transport project.
The ground breaking ceremony was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo and attended by a number of cabinet ministers and Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, and West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan.
The first phase of construction would cost around Rp11.9 trillion for three tracks -- Cibubur-Cawang 13.7 kilometers long, Cawang-Dukuh 10,5 kilometer and Bekasi Timur-Cawang 17.9 kilometers.
The second phase --Cibubur-Bogor, Dukuh Atas-Palmerah-Senayan and Palmerah-Grogol totaling 41.5 kilometers the same as the first phase in cost.
"Work in the first phase is to start in the last quarter of 2015 to be completed in 2016 and the second phase to start in the last quarter of 2016 to be completed by the end of 2018," Kiswodarmawan said.
There would six trains to carry 24,000 passengers every day with a speed on 60-80 km per hour.
President Joko Widodo said the ground breaking ceremony will mark the start of work to build the mass transport infrastructure in the greater Jakarta area .
"The LRT is integrated with all other means of public transport in Jakarta including TransJakarta, airport railway Jakarta-Bandung speed train , etc," the president said.
For that purpose work to build mass transport infrastructure should be completed as scheduled , he said. (WDY)
