Makassar, S Sulawesi (Antara Bali) - Muhammadiyah as one of the major Muslim organizations in Indonesia should have a pharmaceutical factory because it has a number of hospitals across the country, chief of the Muhammadiyah Executive Board Prof Din Syamsuddin said.

"Muhammadiyah should have a pharmaceutical factory. Jordan has offered (assistance to build the factory)," Din remarked at the Muhammadiyah Merchants gathering here on Tuesday.

The gathering was among others attended by President Director of PT Kelola Mina Laut Mohammad Nadjikh, the founder of Wardah Group Dra Nurhayati Subarkah Apt, the founder of Margaria Group Herry Zudianto SE MM, Kalla Grup president director Fatimah Kalla, and president of Bank Bukopin Syariah Riyanto.

On the occasion Din also expressed a hope that Muhammadiyah entrepreneurs have to pick up opportunities abroad and not rely on the state budget projects.

Din also urged Muhammadiyah businessmen to open network to the Middle East including Qatar. Sudanese deputy foreign minister has met him twice to discuss the cooperation.

"Do penetrate other countries, including Japan and South Korea," Din pointed out, adding that hard works are badly needed to grab the business opportunities.
