Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesias womens double pair Greysia
Polii/Nitya Krishinda Maheswari successfully met their promise to become
a champion at Taiwan Badminton Open 2015 on Sunday.
Greysia/Nitya won the championship after beating their Chinese opponents Luo Ying/Luo Yu in a straight set 21-17, 21-17 in 46 minutes at the Taiwan Arena.
The worlds fifth-ranked duo retained the title they won last year.
The best Indonesian womens double players had to fight hard before enjoying the victory which is the third out of four matches against the Chinese pair so far.
Greysia/Nitya were the only Indonesian players taking part in the championship who were able to present a champion title.
Their fellow countrymen, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon, despite their success to reach the final round of the mens double event, finally failed to win a champion title.
They were defeated by Chinese pair Fu Haifeng/Zhan Nan who were the fifth seeded in the championship 13-21, 8-21.
In the womens singles event Chinese Wang Yihan proved the best after overpowering her fellow countrywoman, Li Xuerui, 21-20, 21-9.
The champion title of the mixed doubles event was taken by South Korean pair Ko Sung Hyung/Kim Ha Na. (WDY)
