Jakarta (Antara Bali) - AirAsia Indonesia announced its plan to increase its flight frequency in three international routes  -- Bandung-Singapore, Surabaya-Johor Bahru,  and  Surabaya-Kuala Lumpur  starting Juli 9 in 2015.

"The increase in frequency is to accommodate growing demand for flight service in the three routes," Commercial Director iof the airline Andy Adrian Febryanto said in a news release issued here on Friday.

Andy Adrian said currently, AirAsia Indonesia serves  21 flights a week between Bandung  and Singapore , up from 19 flights earlier.

The airline also increased  the frequency  to seven flights a week  in the Surabaya-Johor Bahru routes from four flights earlier, and  to 49 flights a week in the  Surabaya-Kuala Lumpur route  from 42 earlier.

"Travelers would have more alternatives for flight schedules  in the three international routes," Andy said.

The additional frequency  would help facilitate flights demand for which is expected to increase ahead and during Idul Fitri, he said.  

Earlier the airline announced additional frequencies in both domestic and international flights during the Idul Fitri holidays.

Andy said  there would be 90 additional flights or 16,200 seats  between Jakarta-Bali, Bandung-Bali , Solo-Bali, Bandung-Pekanbaru, Jakarta-Yogyakarta  and  Medan-Penang.

He reminded domestic passengers to use e-boarding pass to avoid long queue in thye check-in counter.

Currently AirAsia Indonesia adopts  "single fleet" policy  using 29 units of aircraft all Airbus A320s.

AirAsia Indonesia now holds the license to serve 32 routes including 21 international routes and 11 domestic routes. (WDY)
