Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The meeting between Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi and 16 soccer clubs in the Indonesia Super League (ISL) 2015 could not reach a decision on the continuation of the ISL tournament, a spokesman said.

"PT Liga Indonesia has no authority to make a decision regarding the (ISL) competition under the transition team," CEO of PT Liga Indonesia Joko Driyono, who is the organizer of the ISL matches, remarked here on Monday after meeting with the minister.

Earlier, the Youth and Sports Minister temporarily suspended the management of the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI).

The PSSI held its extraordinary congress in the East Java provincial capital of Surabaya on Saturday, April 18, 2015, after  Minister Nachrowi imposed a sanction (temporary suspension) on the country's soccer association.

It was the PSSI's failure to respond to warning letters that forced the minister to impose the sanction prior to the congress.

The temporary suspension of the PSSI came after the Indonesian Professional Sports Agency refused to allow two problematic soccer clubs, Persebaya Surabaya and Arema Indonesia, to participate in the ISL tournament due to a dual ownership issue. (WDY)
