Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla inspected the preparations for the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Asian-African Conference (AAC) at the Halim Perdanakusuma airport and at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Saturday.

The VP checked every room at the airport, which will be the location for transit and passport checks for the state guests who will attend the event.

After checking the preparations for the welcoming ceremony for the state guests at the airport, Kalla made his way to do the same at the Jakarta Convention Center, where the opening ceremony of the Asian-African Conference is scheduled to take place.

"The preparations, including the services and technical matters are almost complete, only the rehearsal has to be taken care of," the VP said at the JCC.

Kalla explained that all the funds for the event had been submitted to the organizing committee.

Commenting on security matters, the VP noted that the military and police were well-prepared to ensure that the security situation remained conducive for holding the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference.

During a roll call of VVIP security forces for the 60th AAC anniversary event in Bandung on Thursday, Military Commander General Moeldoko had urged security personnel to remain alert and act without hesitation.

"To ensure security, personnel must act firmly and without hesitation," Moeldoko said, adding that there should be no tolerance when principles were questioned.

"However, the comfort of the general public in attending the AAC events must also be given priority," he added.

On the occasion, he also told all security personnel to check and ensure that security arrangements were optimal. (WDY)
