Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The rupiah value fell in the first minutes of trading on Tuesday trading at the level of 12,982 per US dollar from earlier level of 12,960 .
"The US dollar regained strength in the global market putting a brake on rupiah, which has recorded a rise over the past several days," Samuel Sekuritas'economist Rangga Cipta said.
Rangga said the rupiah fluctuation is still sharp to follow the dollar trend in the global market, however, rupiah is still in the rising trend for the next several days.
He predicted dollar would not be long in a positive territory with thye declining trend of the US non manufacturing data.
Meanwhile, financial market players are awaiting data about US economic sentiment index and employment.
Chief researcher of Monex Investindo Futures Ariston Tjendra said some investors in the financial market are buying dollar following signals that US economic slowdown is only a temporary phenomenon.
He said the US central bank would continue to monetary tightening prompting investors to buy dollar rather than risking currencies.
"Bad weather has bad effects on the US economy in the first quarter of 2015, Better weather would have positive impact on the US economy in the coming several months," he said.
He said the US economy, which tends to improve is expected to make it easier for the Fed to decide to implement its plan to raise its interest rate. (WDY)
