Jakarta (ANTARA Bali) - Minister of Marine and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti estimated loss to the state in the field of fishing in the waters of Indonesia, which is rich in fishery resources, trillions of dollars.
"The state clearly harmed more than Rp11 trillion," said Susi Pudjiastuti during a press conference at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Jakarta, on Friday.
According to Susie, the figures were originally derived from counting the number of large vessels or weighs 5,329 30 Gross Tons (GT) over the care of licensing in the CTF.
Of the thousands of the ship, it is known that the government issued subsidies to the fishing industry is estimated to reach approximately Rp11.5 trillion per year.
While the government through tax state revenue (non-tax) CTF obtained from these ships is only about 300 billion.
Thus, according to him, the state revenue figures are not comparable to the amount released by the government to the fishing industry.
To that end, he has instructed the relevant rules be revised so that it can earn income country with a much larger number.
When state revenues increase, he added, the amount that can be used, among others, to improve the welfare of traditional fishermen.
Minister of Marine and Fisheries also suggested that he would meet with President Joko Widodo in today's Presidential Palace Complex, among others, to apply for permission to leave on Saturday (1/11).
Earlier, Minister of Marine and Fisheries Pudjiastuti Susi said the country deserved more revenue than the income derived from fishing vessels operating in Indonesian waters.
"The country deserves better," said Susi Pudjiastuti a news conference at the CTF, Jakarta, Thursday (30/10).
He pointed out, in Australia alone, for fishing vessels wishing to catch lobster in the waters of the country, should pay "license" (permission) to about 1 million US dollars.
With a very large number and even then, he said, the fishing period can only be done within certain months only.
