Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Jakarta Government officials and President Joko Widodo conducted a silaturahmi (friendship visit) at the Jakarta governor's home in Taman Soerapati, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

Based on Antara's observation, the officials comprising the administration's working units (SKPD), Regional Working Units (UKPD), and Jakarta's Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) had arrived since 6:30 a.m. local time.

Deputy Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama and his wife Veronica Tan also arrived at the Jakarta governor's home at 7:20 a.m. local time.

Joko Widodo along his wife, Iriana Widodo, and children, Kahiyang Ayu and Kaesang Pangarep, arrived at the home at 7:40 a.m. local time.

Jokowi conducted a 25-minute meeting with the city officials. They then proceeded together to the Presidential Palace to continue the silaturahmi (friendship visit).

Basuki said the visit to the palace was a relationship-building measure between the president and the city officials.

"We are going to the palace by bus. We are here for just a minute," he noted.

At 8:10 a.m. local time, the entire group left the Jakarta governor's home office using minibuses and buses and headed for the Presidential Palace.

To traverse the distance, Jokowi and Iriana, Basuki and Veronica, Jakarta Secretary (Sekda) Saefullah and his wife, Acting Chief of the Regional Affairs Office Heru Budi Hartono, and several personnel of the Presidential Security Guard (Paspampres) boarded a minibus. (WDY)
