Surabaya, E Java (Antara) - Indonesia looks set to grab two titles from the women's doubles and mixed doubles of the "Jaya Raya Junior International Challenge 2014" tournament after host shuttlers secured all places in the semifinals.

Four pairs of Indonesian women's doubles badminton players who outplayed their opponents in the quarterfinals at the Sudirman Sports Stadium here on Friday are first-seeded Jauza Fadhila Sugiarto/Apriyani Rahayu, seventh-seeded Mychelle Chrystine Bandaso/Felicia Parmenas, second-seeded Rahmadhani Hastiyanti/Marsheilla Gischa Islami, and non-seeded Yulfira Barkah/Dianita Saraswati.

Four host pairs who dominated the mixed doubles are top-seeded Reinard Dhanriano/Sinta Arum, seventh-seeded Tedi Supriadi/Mychelle Chrystine, fourth-seeded Jeka Wiratama/Marsheilla Gischa, and non-seeded Beno Drajat/Yulfira Barkah.

In the three other matches to be played on Saturday, Indonesian shuttlers also dominated top four rounds, earning the host team a great chance of making a clean sweep of titles.
In the women's singles, second-seeded Fitriani will play against third-seeded Jiamin Yeo of Singapore, while four-seeded Gregoria Mariska Tunjung will play against 16th-seeded Alisa Sapniti of Thailand.

Fitriani who has just joined the national training camp (pelatnas) in Cipayung, East Jakarta, outscored her compatriot Priskila Siahaya 21-18, 21-17, while her would-be opponent Jiamin Yeo beat Na Ra Jang of South Korea 21-16, 21-16.

The six-day tournament, which opened on Tuesday, brings together 300 shuttlers from six countries, including Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, South Korea, and host Indonesia. (WDY)
