Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian currency rupiah gained against the US dollar in inter-bank transaction in the opening trade on Monday.
Rupiah traded at the level of 11,414 from the level of 11,439 earlier. "Rupiah is still in the trend of strengthening. Technically rupiah is coming out of a situation of being under pressure," Monex Investindo Futures' analyst Zulfirman Basir said.
Fundamentally optimism still prevailed with investors still having confidence in the country's economy ahead of the legislative election next month, he said.
However, market players still are cautious about uncertainty about the policy of the US central bank over its financial stimulus and interest rate.
Chief researcher of Trust Securities, Reza Priyambada, said market players are caution in their response to the low projection of Indonesian economic growth by the World Bank.
