Jakarta (Antara Bali) - General Moeldoko was inaugurated as the Chief of the National Armed Forces (TNI) on Wednesday at a military-style ceremony, held at TNI's headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta.
Moeldoko has taken over the military's top position, replacing Admiral Agus Suhartono, who is on the verge of retirement.
"TNI will continue to act effectively and professionally in accordance with the national interest," said Moeldoko in his inauguration speech.
General Moeldoko started his career with the armed forces in 1981 as one of the best participants at the military academy. Before assuming the top position in the military, he served as the Deputy Chief of the Army. (*/DWA)
