Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik said the government was encouraging people to use green energy through various regulations and polices.
"The government has been promoting the use of green energy by issuing various regulations such as ministerial decisions. So, if someone is willing to do business in the green energy sector it is now time to do it," Jero Wacik said after opening a seminar on "Indonesia Towards Green Energy" here on Wednesday.
He said that the government had issued a ceiling price of solar energy, namely 25 US dollar cents for a period of 25 years. "The solar energy is cheap because it need not transportation cost but it comes by itself," he said. The energy is quite suitable for use in isolated areas. (M038)
