Jakarta (Antara Bali) - All society components have equal rights and obligations without any superior group, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said on his Twitter account on Sunday.

The president said there should not be any group of people who feel more superior than the other.

"We all have equal rights and obligations. There should not be any group of people who feel more superior than the other," he said, adding that the state would continue to run its constitutional obligation to protect the right of every individual to practice his or her religious service.

Speaking at the peak event of Waisak Buddhist holiday here on Sunday evening, the president asserted that there should not be no contradiction between the majority and minority groups in creating harmony in the pluralistic community.

"As I stated in Bali in 2005 that there need not nor must not be a dispute between the so-called minority and majority groups. These all are the component of our nation that must lead a tranquil and peaceful life and respect to one another," the President said. (*/DWA)
