Balikpapan (Antara Bali) - The customs authorities of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, foiled an attempt to smuggle in Rp1 billion worth of drug from Mumbai, India.
The customs found the drug , 536 grams of methamphetamine, stashed in a package of four pistons of car engine, Djanurindro Wibowo, the head of the Balikpapan customs service and supervision office, said here on Thursday.
The customs authorities in cooperation with police arrested a man identified as NFS (39) who received the package.
The package sent to an address in Balikpapan, arrived on Wednesday, Djanurindro said.
Deputy chief of Balikpapan police anti drug detective Adj. Sr. Comr. Sigit said the suspect NM also known with the name of Emon could face heavy punishment up to death sentence if found guilty. (IGT)
