Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesia will make every effort to capture the European tourism market by becoming an official partner country for the Internationale Tourismus-Börse (ITB) Berlin, Germany, in March 2013.

"The government will attempt to capture the European tourism market by becoming an official partner country for ITB Berlin 2013," the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry's promotion director, Esthy Reko Astuti, said here on Saturday.

She affirmed that in 2013, Indonesia will have become an official partner country for the Internationale Tourismus-Börse in Berlin, Germany.

Esthy noted that this would make Indonesia the first ASEAN country to host the world's largest travel and tourism trade fair.

"It will give Indonesia a major opportunity to optimally increase the number of tourists from European countries who visit Indonesia," Esthy remarked.

She said she would also encourage European tourists to visit not only the main tourist destination of Bali but also other tourist attractions across Indonesia. (IGT/T007)
