Medan (Antara Bali) - A woman was buried alive feared death in a rain triggered landslide in the North Sumatra's island of Nias.
Ina Algeano, 42, was buried alive in a landslide in the village of Amandraya , in the South Nias regency on Sunday, head of the North Sumatra Natural Disaster Control Agency Ahmad Hidayat Nasution said here on Friday.
She was trying to help her son who fell on the slippy ground when piles of earth from uphill fell on her and buried her alive, Hidayat said.
Local people were still searching for her body , Hidayat said.
Meanwhile, floods hit nearby village of Hilisimaetano Ndruso in the regency when the Eho river overflowed its banks forcing tens of people to leave their houses, he said.(IGT)
